Buddy and Intergenerational Programs
At St Raphael’s School, we are proud to partner with local kindergartens, child care centres, and aged care facilities through our Buddy and Intergenerational Programs. These partnerships help build a connected, caring, and vibrant community.
Buddy Programs with Kindergartens & Child Care Centres
Each participating kindergarten or child care centre is paired with a St Raphael’s class. Our students and their kindy buddies visit each other several times each term, building strong peer-to-peer relationships. These visits allow our students to give back and reflect on their own educational journeys, while our kindy friends gain confidence and excitement about starting primary school.
We also collaborate on major educational events in literacy, maths, and cultural diversity, nurturing a sense of community and a love of learning as children prepare for the transition to school life.

Intergenerational Partnerships with Aged Care Facilities
We also partner with local aged care facilities for intergenerational activities. Students visit residents and host reciprocal visits, sharing stories, music, art, and special events. Together, we:
- Engage in craft and art projects
- Share music and singing sessions
- Read stories and share school work
- Celebrate special occasions
- Participate in gardening and outdoor activities
- Hold morning teas and conversation sessions
These activities foster empathy, respect, and a sense of belonging for all generations.
